What Is W1AW/7 Nevada?

W1AW is the callsign of the Hiram Percy Maxim Memorial Station at ARRL headquarters in Newington, Connecticut. During the 2026 America250 Worked All States celebration, authorized operators throughout the United States are helping bring the W1AW portable callsign to the airwaves from every state.

From October 28 through November 3, 2026, Nevada amateur radio operators are authorized to participate in the state’s W1AW/7 activation during their assigned operating periods.

This is a coordinated statewide ARRL operating opportunity. It is not an event exclusively operated or controlled by any one Nevada amateur radio club.

America’s 250th Anniversary

The ARRL America250 Worked All States program celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence through amateur radio activity throughout 2026.

One Historic Callsign

Authorized stations throughout Nevada operate as W1AW/7 during their reserved operating periods, allowing amateur radio operators across the world to contact the Silver State.

Multiple Bands and Modes

Participating stations may operate on eligible amateur radio bands using CW, phone, and digital modes, subject to operating privileges and event rules. The 60-meter band is excluded.
