Membership Meetings
We hold meetings differently from many Vegas-area clubs. SCRG membership meetings are held in person and online via Google Meet.
These meetings aren’t for meetings’ sake. Regular SCRG meetings focus on training, technical development, operating practices, repeater infrastructure, digital systems, emergency-ready communications, and other topics that help members become better operators.
The program is the primary focus, not parliamentary theater.
What can our members learn tonight that makes them more capable operators tomorrow?
We hold an annual formal annual business meeting to provide updates on finances, governance, organizational direction, and major infrastructure priorities.

Board of Directors Meetings
SCRG Board meetings are working sessions. Governance has a job to do.
The Board operates under the SCRG Constitution and Bylaws and is responsible for financial oversight, repeater infrastructure planning, policy direction, compliance, risk management, and long-term stewardship of the organization.
Directors are elected to make decisions and remain accountable for those decisions. Member input matters. Decision rights matter too. Effective organizations know the difference.
Board meetings stay focused on the work required to keep SCRG stable, compliant, technically serious, financially responsible, and moving forward.
Meetings may be held in person, electronically, or through other means permitted by the bylaws. Non-board members may participate by invitation when their expertise, committee work, or operational responsibility is relevant to the agenda.

Ham Happy Hour
Not every SCRG gathering needs a motion, a report, or a repeater diagram.
Ham Happy Hour is our informal social meetup for licensed amateur radio operators, radio builders, net regulars, and technically curious hams across Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.
No stale agenda. No procedural marathon. Just operators talking radio, repeaters, DMR, EchoLink, antennas, emergency communications, projects, gear, and whatever else comes up when capable people get in the same room.
Come for the conversation. Stay for the signal.
RF Work Party
SCRG is not built from the back of a meeting room.
Our Technical Committee and RF work parties are where the infrastructure gets built, maintained, tested, repaired, and improved. That means repeater maintenance, antenna systems, feedlines, controllers, linking, digital voice, site safety, interference mitigation, testing, documentation, and system upgrades across Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.
These are hands-on working sessions for operators who want to build real technical capability and contribute to a system other people rely on.
The standard is straightforward: show up prepared, learn the system, work safely, document what changed, and leave the site better than you found it.
Good ideas are welcome. Experience is valuable. But on a mountaintop, the hardware, the measurements, and the results get the final vote.
The people who consistently show up, learn the systems, do the work, and protect the network earn trust and greater responsibility within SCRG.
