The W7RPT Newsletter
Our Las Vegas ham radio newsletter brings together the people, projects, and operating experiences shaping amateur radio in Southern Nevada. Read about repeater infrastructure, technical experiments, special event stations, member activities, mentoring, and community outreach.
To our knowledge, Sin City Repeater Group, Inc. is the only amateur radio club in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada publishing a regular club newsletter. We use that opportunity to share useful knowledge, recognize the people doing the work, and give more operators a reason to get involved.
Published Six Times a Year
The newsletter is published every other month, in January, March, May, July, September, and November. Issues are available here as free PDFs for members, visitors, prospective hams, and fellow amateur radio clubs.

September 2026: Contacts, Community, and Technical Experimentation
The September issue follows members from special event operating to youth outreach and HF activity at the former KXNT AM transmitter site. It also explores LoRa APRS and updates from the repeater network.
- K7F Saint Maximilian Kolbe Special Event Station: 1,525 contacts with 1,260 unique call signs across 31 DXCC entities and 49 U.S. states.
- Civil Air Patrol outreach: hands-on amateur radio and HF experiences for 55 cadets in Henderson.
- KXNT operating event: members on 160, 80, 40, and 20 meters at the former AM transmitter site in North Las Vegas.
- LoRa APRS at 433 MHz: Heltec hardware, digipeaters, iGates, firmware, and observations from low-power experimentation.
- Repeater and AllStarLink updates, member news, and opportunities to participate.

Share Your Amateur Radio Story
You do not need to be a professional writer to contribute. A useful project, a memorable contact, a lesson from the field, or a few good photographs can become something worth sharing.
We welcome ideas for technical articles, antenna and station projects, repeater work, Parks on the Air activations, special event reports, public-service communications, mentoring, and other amateur radio experiences.
Email Michael with your name, call sign, a short description of the proposed article, and any photographs you would like considered. Include photographer credits and let him know whether the material has appeared elsewhere. Contact the editor for submission timing and editorial coordination.
Ham Radio Club Article Co-op
Sin City Repeater Group, Inc. is looking to partner with other ham radio clubs for an article co-op. The goal is to exchange useful amateur radio articles, share operating experiences, and give good work a wider audience.
We welcome conversations with clubs in Las Vegas, Southern Nevada, and beyond. A club does not need its own newsletter to discuss contributing an article. Technical projects, event reports, educational pieces, and stories that help operators learn are all welcome topics.
Article exchanges would be coordinated with participating editors and contributors, with permission to republish and clear credit to the author and originating club. Contact Michael DiTurno KC8OWL to discuss an exchange, a joint article, or a recurring contribution.

Six times each year, in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
Do I need to be a member to read it?
No. The newsletter PDFs on this page are free to read. Members, visiting operators, prospective hams, and other clubs are welcome to explore them.
