September 2026 Sin City Repeater Group Newsletter

The September 2026 Sin City Repeater Group newsletter highlights a busy period of amateur radio activity across Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, and Southern Nevada.

This issue features the results of the K7F Saint Maximilian Kolbe Special Event Station, where SCRG operators logged 1,525 contacts with 1,260 unique call signs across 31 DXCC entities and 49 U.S. states. It also covers SCRG’s hands-on amateur radio outreach with 55 Civil Air Patrol cadets in Henderson, providing young people with direct experience in two-way radio communications and HF operations.

Another major feature documents the club’s September 6 operation from the former KXNT AM transmitter site in North Las Vegas, where members operated on 160, 80, 40, and 20 meters. The event gave newer operators opportunities to make their first HF contacts, while experienced members shared equipment, knowledge, and operational experience.

This issue also covers a technical feature on LoRa APRS at 433 MHz, including Heltec hardware, APRS digipeaters, iGates, firmware, and practical observations on low-power LoRa performance. Readers will also find updates on the Sin City Repeater Group repeater network, AllStarLink connectivity, club leadership, membership, and opportunities for members to become more involved.

The Sin City Repeater Group, Inc. is an active Las Vegas amateur radio club focused on operating, technical education, mentoring, experimentation, public service, STEM outreach, and the development and stewardship of reliable repeater infrastructure throughout Southern Nevada.
