The General Mobile Radio Service, or GMRS, is a special licensed radio service that has a separate license. In Las Vegas, there are over a dozen repeaters sharing a spectrum providing valley-wide repeater coverage.

A license from the Federal Communication Commission is required to use these repeaters.

Check out this map, below, created by team member Chris KI7VLP/WQYS453.

Of course, as with anything, most of the repeater sit around not being used. Which repeaters do you want to have in your rig?

  • Radioactive 600 | 462.600 MHz + | 141.3 PL | Intersection of Craig and Allen in North Las Vegas
  • RAT 625 | 462.625 MHz + | 141.3 PL | Top of Mt. Potosi (flame thrower machine)
