System Information

SCRG supports a network of amateur radio repeater systems designed for reliability, coverage, and operational integrity.

These systems are built, maintained, and continuously refined by operators who take ownership of their performance.

System Philosophy

Our systems are designed with a clear priority: Reliability over convenience.

That means:

  • Clean, stable RF environments
  • Thoughtful coverage and placement
  • Equipment and configurations that favor consistency
  • Long-term maintainability over short-term fixes

If a system works only when everything is perfect, it doesn’t work.

Built to Be Used

SCRG is among the more active repeater networks in Southern Nevada.

That activity is not accidental.

Operators consistently choose systems that:

  • Work when expected
  • Maintain order on the air
  • Support meaningful, ongoing communication
  • Avoid the noise and inconsistency found elsewhere

Active systems are a byproduct of reliability.

Operational Standards

All SCRG systems operate in compliance with FCC Part 97 and accepted coordination practices.

System use is expected to reflect:

  • Proper station identification
  • Lawful, non-commercial communication
  • Clear, concise transmissions
  • Respect for shared infrastructure

This is a shared system, not a personal channel.

Access Model

SCRG repeaters operate as a closed network. Permission to use the system is required.

Access is granted at the discretion of the organization and individual repeater trustees.

Access may be limited or revoked at any time to protect:

  • System integrity
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Operational reliability

Use of the system implies acceptance of these standards.

Operating Expectations

Operators using SCRG systems are expected to:

  • Listen before transmitting
  • Identify properly and consistently
  • Keep transmissions concise and purposeful
  • Yield immediately to emergency or priority traffic
  • Avoid unnecessary repeater activation

Professional conduct is the baseline.

Enforcement

To protect system performance and compliance, SCRG enforces its standards.

Access may be suspended or revoked for:

  • Violations of FCC rules
  • Disruptive or abusive behavior
  • Interference or misuse of the system
  • Conduct that degrades reliability or reflects poorly on the service

Enforcement is not theoretical.

It is operational.

Systems like this don’t stay reliable by accident.

They stay reliable because someone is paying attention.
