Leadership That Builds
SCRG leadership is built around one standard: the people responsible for the network should know what they are doing, contribute real work, and protect the mission.
Our officers are responsible for governance, RF operations, education, outreach, financial stewardship, and the long-term sustainability of amateur radio infrastructure across Southern Nevada.

Bill N4NJJ
Founding President
Bill founded SCRG to build a higher-standard amateur radio organization focused on repeater infrastructure, education, technical reliability, and serious operating culture.
His background in educational leadership, business administration, and organizational operations helps guide SCRG’s mission, governance, and long-term strategy.

Chris KI7VLP
Vice President for Social and Educational Outreach
Chris leads SCRG’s member experience, training programs, outreach, events, and educational activities.
His work helps turn SCRG from a repeater group into an active community of operators who learn, improve, and stay engaged on the air.

Dan W7IVK
Vice President for RF Operations
Dan brings professional broadcast engineering experience to SCRG’s repeater systems, linking, site work, and RF planning.
As a certified tower climber and Southern Nevada Society of Broadcast Engineers Frequency Coordinator, he helps keep SCRG’s infrastructure disciplined, reliable, and built to perform.

Rey AK7RF
Treasurer
Rey brings decades of experience in Las Vegas business and construction as the owner of a general contracting company.
He also brings international amateur radio leadership experience, including facilitating ham radio events spanning three continents.
Meet the Team
The Sin City Repeater Group, Inc. operates as a Nevada nonprofit corporation and is recognized as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
We maintain clear governance structures, defined authority, and documented policies to ensure accountability, compliance, and long-term sustainability.
This is intentional.
Organizations that manage infrastructure require structure.

Las Vegas Ham Radio Club Governance | Sin City Repeater Group
Most ham radio clubs in Las Vegas and Henderson operate on a simple model: pay dues, show up, and get a vote.
That model works for social organizations.
It does not reliably produce high-performance repeater systems.
The Sin City Repeater Group (SCRG) is built differently.
Contribution-Based Governance in Amateur Radio
At SCRG, influence is earned through contribution, not purchased through dues.
The people who shape the direction of the organization are the ones who actively build, maintain, and sustain the Las Vegas ham radio repeater network. That includes repeater sponsors, technical operators, and members who consistently invest time, skill, and resources into keeping the system operational.
If you are going to influence the system, you need to be capable of sustaining it.
That standard is intentional.
Amateur Radio Membership vs. Voting Rights
We draw a clear line between participation and governance.
SCRG supports amateur radio in Las Vegas through technical training, mentoring, and public service communications. These activities are open to those who want to learn and contribute.
Governance is not.
Voting authority is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated technical competence and sustained contribution to the system. This ensures accountability and protects the integrity of the network.
A Selective Ham Radio Club in Las Vegas
SCRG operates as a selective amateur radio club in Las Vegas.
New members are sponsored and vetted based on character, technical ability, and alignment with the Group. While many members participate in events, training, and on-air activity, governance is intentionally limited.
Reliable repeater systems depend on responsible operators.
That responsibility cannot be diluted.
Leadership Focused on Repeater Infrastructure
SCRG is led by a Board of Directors and officers responsible for real operational areas, including:
- RF infrastructure and repeater systems
- Technical standards and system design
- Amateur radio training and outreach
- Administrative and organizational operations
These roles are operational, not ceremonial.
Decisions are made with a focus on:
- System performance
- FCC Part 97 compliance
- Network reliability
- Long-term sustainability
Why Governance Matters in Ham Radio
Amateur radio repeaters are complex technical systems.
When governance is disconnected from contribution, standards decline, systems degrade, and accountability becomes unclear.
SCRG was built to avoid that outcome.
By aligning governance with contribution, we maintain a reliable and active ham radio repeater network in Las Vegas.
A Different Kind of Ham Radio Club
If you are looking for a Las Vegas ham radio club where a dues payment equals influence, there are many options.
If you are looking for a group built on technical standards, accountability, and real-world repeater operations, you are in the right place.
