Thank you for visiting the Sin City Repeater Group.
We are a Las Vegas amateur radio organization focused on one thing: doing radio well and building systems that last. That means reliable repeater infrastructure, capable operators, and real-world communication when it matters.
Our Mission
SCRG exists to advance education in amateur radio, develop technical skills, and support public service and emergency communications. We don’t just use repeaters. We build them, maintain them, and train people to understand how they work.
Our Vision
We are building one of the most capable and reliable ham radio repeater networks in Las Vegas. The goal is simple:
- Systems that work
- Operators who know what they’re doing
- A structure that rewards contribution and accountability
We’re not interested in being the largest club. We’re focused on being one of the best.
Where We Started
SCRG began with a single repeater and a simple goal: stay connected. I built the first machine at Railroad Pass to keep in touch with friends and family back in Buffalo. That grew into additional repeaters, linked systems, and eventually a network connecting Las Vegas, Western New York, and the Southwest.
What Makes Us Different
This is not just a repeater system. It’s a community.
We have a younger core than most amateur radio clubs, and that’s intentional. Families are part of what we do. Kids are around, learning the hobby, and growing into it. We believe the future of amateur radio depends on bringing the next generation along, not just talking about it.
Why It Matters
Everything we build is designed to support learning, technical competence, and long-term sustainability. The systems matter. The people matter more.
If you value technical standards, hands-on learning, and a serious approach to amateur radio, you’ll understand what we’re doing here.
Welcome.
