The Sin City Repeater Group (SCRG) operates a closed repeater system. Access to these systems is a privilege, not a right, and may be granted, limited, or revoked at any time by SCRG or by the individual repeater trustee. By transmitting on any SCRG-affiliated repeater, you automatically consent to these terms. If these expectations are not acceptable to you, you are free to use another repeater system — SCRG is committed to maintaining a respectful, high-standard operating environment, and participation here is entirely voluntary.
Authority Under FCC Rules
This policy is consistent with FCC Part 97.205(e), which states: “Limiting the use of a repeater to only certain user stations is permissible.”
By law, each SCRG repeater trustee has the sole authority to control access to their station.
Access Expectations
Operators who are granted access are expected to:
- Follow FCC Part 97 regulations at all times
- Operate responsibly and courteously
- Respect the Group’s standards of professionalism and technical excellence
Prohibited Conduct
Use of SCRG repeaters will not be permitted for:
- Intentional interference or harassment
- Abusive, discriminatory, or profane language
- Unauthorized linking, reconfiguration, or modification of equipment
- Operation while intoxicated or impaired by alcohol, drugs, or controlled substances
- Criminal, terroristic, or insurrectionary activity
- Any conduct that reflects poorly on the amateur service or SCRG
Final Authority
Decisions regarding repeater access are final and not subject to appeal. By transmitting on any SCRG-affiliated repeater, you automatically consent to these terms. If these expectations are not acceptable to you, you are free to use another repeater system — SCRG is committed to maintaining a respectful, high-standard operating environment, and participation here is entirely voluntary.
Disclaimer & Terms of Use
No Guarantee of Coverage or Access
Neither LasVegasHamRadio.com, N4NJJ.com, Sin City Repeater Group (SCRG), nor any participating repeater trustee, licensee, operator, or affiliate makes any promise or guarantee of coverage, access, or operational uptime. All participation by repeater owners and trustees is strictly voluntary, not contractual, and can be withdrawn at any time without notice.
We Owe You Nothing
We have no obligation whatsoever to provide you repeater access under any circumstance — including, but not limited to, attempts to use a ½-watt handheld radio from the interior bathroom of your stucco-framed (i.e., Faraday-cage) house, to a repeater 40+ miles away. Coverage depends on physics, terrain, building construction, equipment, and countless other variables completely outside our control. If you require coverage that does not currently exist, the remedy is simple: build, license, fund, and maintain your own machine.
No Liability
By using this website, or by transmitting on or through any referenced system, you acknowledge and agree that:
- LasVegasHamRadio.com, N4NJJ.com, SCRG, and all associated repeater trustees, licensees, officers, members, or volunteers shall bear no liability for any failure, limitation, or inaccessibility of service.
- We disclaim responsibility for the accuracy of posted information, technical operation of systems, or legality of any third-party repeater.
- We assume no responsibility for the content of any communication carried over these systems.
- You hold us harmless from any and all damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from your reliance on or inability to use any system described.
Voluntary Cooperation, Not Entitlement
Repeaters in this system exist solely because independent trustees voluntarily contribute privately-funded equipment and resources. This is a courtesy, not a contract. No user is entitled to handheld coverage, network access, or special accommodation.
Use at Your Own Risk
All use is strictly at your own risk.
